Bring the thing you're actually building.

A Pacific Northwest show-and-tell for people building hardware and software. A few local builders demo what they're actually making, in whatever state it's in, then everyone hangs around to meet the people behind the work.

Free · North Bank Innovations, Vancouver WA

A full room on folding chairs, watching a builder talk through a programmable keypad shown on the projector screen.
August demo night, North Bank Innovations

What to expect

  1. Anyone who builds.

Microcontrollers, robotics, AR/VR, apps, startups, side projects, tools. First project or fiftieth, demoing or just here to look. If you make things, this room is for you.

  2. Real demos, no pitches.

Show the thing running, or half-running. No hype reels, no fundraising. Demo breaks mid presentation, no problem, part of the process.

  3. Everyone gets the floor.

Ask the question you think is too basic. Give people the room you'd want for your own half-finished thing. Our code of conduct holds for everyone here.

The evening

5:00 PM

Doors

Snacks, name tags, and standing around.

Five people wearing name tags stand talking around a small robot arm on a workbench; one holds a can of sparkling water.
5:30 PM

Demos

A few builders, each taking the time their demo needs — ten minutes, twenty, longer if it earns it.

Two builders at the demo table with a small robot arm and a laptop, one pointing a remote at the screen, while the seated audience looks on smiling.
6:30 PM

Open floor

Plug in, pass it around, argue about it.

A builder holds up a phone while explaining a 3D-printed robotic hand to three listeners; behind them, others lean over the hand and its wiring on a table.
~7:30 PM

Lights off.

Everything shown so far.

The club keeps a record of what got demoed, by whom. It is the only membership list there is.
